You Can Work Smarter With Your Email
In today’s video I’m going to show you a tip on how to be able to work smarter with your email. Quick tip, and it should save you probably anywhere from 5 minutes to a few hours a day and you will see what I mean in a minute.
So let’s get into it.
Hey this is Jamie, Founder of Technology for Coaches and in today’s video I want to give you a little tip that I’ve been using for a couple of years in my business and it’s all around Google email.
If you use Gmail in your business then what you may find, and this is the same with any email (and if you haven’t got Gmail in your business I strongly recommend it).
In the Fast Track training I worked through the step by steps on how to get Google apps into your business.
But I don’t know about you, if you go to find an email and you go to your email and you look in your inbox and before you even started to search looking for what you’re after, the inbox list in front of you is going to distract you.
And that’s why sometimes you go in for one thing and 2 hours later you come out and you think “What did I originally go in for?” and you just wasted 2 hours of your day because you’ve been going through emails.
So what if there was a way that you could search your inbox without actually looking at your inbox?
Google Chrome Extension For Free!
And there is! If you use Google Chrome on your computer, whether it’s a Windows or whether it’s a Mac you can add an extension to Google Chrome called Gmail Search.
It’s free in the extensions library. Link is here: Gmail Search
So in Chrome go to extensions, find a new extension, and look for Gmail search. What that allows you to do is that part of the Chrome bar at the top where you would normally type in a Google search you can then type “GS” press space and then you can type whatever you want and it’s going to search your Gmail inbox.
What does that mean?
That means that you never have to go to your inbox first and then use the search box inside of email, which means you don’t get distracted when you are looking for one very specific thing in your email. So that, not only will it save you a number of seconds searching a lot quicker but it will literally save you hours from being distracted from your inbox.
